The Set Sail corporate pilot challenge

In 20120 your businesses can have the chance to compete with others in a live sailing challenge against an opposing team.

The winning team will be crowned the Set Sail Pilot Challengers 2019.

It’s guaranteed to be an experience to remember, plus you’ll have the chance to see where your donation goes – towards providing sailing trips for children on the same boats you will sail. All funds help the community within the nautical objectives of the Trust.

The cost to enter is £1500 per team, per boat which includes:

  • Fund a day of sailing for underprivileged groups, special needs schools and the States chosen primary school for that year, plus
  • Gain automatic entry into the Bristol Cutters Evening Challenge – great for corporate hospitality or for staff team building
  • Get recognition as a Corporate Ambassador on the Set Sail Trust website and marketing material surrounding the Bristol Cutters Week
  • Have the option to use the SST logo on their own marketing material
  • Publicity and team photographs
  • Crew supper at the Yacht Club (additional supper places available to purchase).

The boats are Pilot Cutters,  (45ft on deck) and have the look and lines of traditional, wooden and classic boats.

The interior is modern and light and designed for comfort. State-of-the-art marine electronics and safety equipment have been cleverly integrated into each boat using traditional boatbuilding techniques and materials. The larch hulls and decks sit on English oak frames, from sustainable and renewable resources. Displacing 28 tonnes, the vessels are safe, solid and capable of sailing anywhere, in any conditions.

Each Guernsey-based voyage will set off from the Marina, with a professional and experienced skipper. The skipper will teach the necessary skills of seamanship to those new to the water, as well as advise more experienced sailors how to get the most out of their boats.

The boats carry the required safety equipment on board and a range of wet weather gear.

Bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.
